The original Swakop Vellie
Construction:
Our original Swakop vellie which is handmade in Namibia has suede or smooth upper leather as well as a leather insole. We use a rubber sole and have three types to choose from. A soft thin walking sole (traditional) a grippier medium sole as well as a thick tracking sole.
For authenticity our vellie has a “Kudu Head” rivet and the famous “Kudu Leder” tag on the side of each shoe. Our hand made shoes are fully resoleable.
Sizing:
Only available in UK men’s and women’s full sizes. The cut is generous. We recommend ordering one size below your UK shoe size. A UK 10 would fit a UK 9 vellie. Please note that the Kudu vellie has to be a snug fit. Kudu leather adapts and moulds around your foot and stretches to size. Should you need to wear orthopaedic insoles, stay with your normal shoe size.
Colour & Styles:
Traditionally the vellie is available in a tan or dark brown smooth or suede colour . Red and navy can be an option, depending on leather availability.
The standard vellie is ankle hight. We also do a low cut vellie for ladies .
The Kudu Boot is available only in the tan colour and ends above the ankle.
The Namib Trapper Boot is available in the tan colour as well as in a smooth dark brown or rust brown.
